Memorial day was fun and relaxing. We spent it in Holland with my folks- golf, shopping, walks, and Sammy and the hose. He had a gredat time with that hose; yes, he is in his underwear because his mother didn't bring his bathing suit!
As many of you know I have had a really hard time with getting Josh to eat foods. It is so different then Sam! Samloved food right from the start and would eat anything I gave him- especially vegetables which he still loves. Josh won't open his mouth. So I stopped trying for a couple weeks and just started up again. He is doing a little better, but not much. If he doesn't like something he throws up (apparently he doesn't care for peas). I have been sort of annoyed because he is so far behind what Sam was doing at this time. I know I need to just be patient, but it is really hard. I found a great article about starting solids on one of my favorite websites: http://www.kellymom.com/nutrition/solids/index.html
Josh is already starting to get into a crawling position- moving his legs and stretching for toys. Give him a month or two and he will be moving all around! We love BabyLegs! check out buybabylegs.com.
I did a post earlier with my high school friends and kids...this picture is two good friends of mine from college and their new babies: Cindy with Claire, and Kristin with Zoe. Welcome little girls!
Here are photos of Josh and Sam when they are 6 months old. Josh had his 6 month visit (he is 6 months and 11 days) and he weighed 20 lbs. and 4 oz. and was 27 inches long. When Sam was 6 months and 5 days he weighed 19lbs 10 oz. and was 28.5 inches long. Josh is short and chubby! He is 90th percentile for weight and 75th perccentile for height.
I have had a few people ask me how the potty training was coming. The majority of books/articles we read said it should take about 3 months. We are just shy of two months (we started 2/9) and I would say Sam is potty trained. He does very well, with some accidents. However, Kevin and I now understand why he has accidents: he has them when he is excited about new surrounding or lots of attention and therefore he gets distracted. So, when we have guests over or when we are at someone else's house we just have to keep on him because these are the times he gets distracted and forgets to go. But that is okay! I am so proud of my boy and I don't have to change anymore poopie diapers or pants!!
