A Day.

1. Sam kept asking to play bloon game. I kept saying maybe later, stop asking. He kept asking. Then he hit Josh. No bloon game today. He keeps asking....
2. I asked Sam to talk to Zeke when he woke up while I finished cleaning the basement. When I went up to get him I found Sam in his crib. (Zeke was not crying, he LOVES his big brothers). I told Sam no more climbing in the crib- even if I did think it was funny.
3. I cleaned, really cleaned- all toys, puzzles, cars, balls in their place. Vacuumed- the basement was spotless the floor clear of all things. While I put Zeke to bed Sam took the oppurtunity to dump out every toy. I could no longer see the floor.
4. I went up at 3:15 to check on Sam's rest time and to tell him to go clean up his mess. I opening the door- no Sam in the bed. He was behind the curtain standing on the window sill...

1. Yesterday I bought popsicles at the grocery store. Josh begged for one, but he had been quite naughty so he wasn't allowed one yesterday. When he woke up this morning he asked for one. When he finished his cereal he asked for one...I keep saying maybe later and he keeps asking!
2. Josh had no pee or poopy accidents today. But he did drop his underwear in the toilet after he had peed in the toilet.
3. Josh loves animals, especially his horses (Jack, Cookie, Old Paint, Princess, and Gorbazorb). Jack is gone- broken leg that we couldn't fix. Cookie has been lost for weeks, but we found him today! Josh was so happy he takes him everywhere! Josh wanted to take him in the sandbox- I said after nap.
4. Josh was in his room for 20 minutes and came out and said- I am ready for the sandbox! Very cute, but I told him no, you have to sleep!!

Zeke has been an angel!! (For now...)

Haircut!!!!!!!

No more mohawk!! He is quite cute too =)

Quite a pair!! Sam never stops talking, and Old Grandpa has difficulty hearing, so they are great together! This particular day was funny too because Sam kept asking Old Grandpa if he was farting (Old Grandpa couldn't hear Sam's question). Every time Old Grandpa tooted Sam burst into a fit of giggles.

The weekend

This past weekend we went to Woodstock and played in a baseball tournament. It was fun, busy, and we failed to take a single picture of baseball. However, we did manage to get a few other cute pictures! As I mentioned before, Zeke loves to jump in the jumper...the first picture is him actually falling asleep while jumping!

Normal Stuff

Been awhile since I posted, so I decided to just take some pictures this morning of some "normal" day to day activities.

Sam likes to listen to his music:

Josh loves to play with his animals:

Zeke LOVES jumping in the jumper:

Last week Friday- the 18th- Zeke rolled over from his tummy to his back!

Oh- lately, Josh has been really into showing off his belly button!

The Powers of Breastmilk...

You all know that I am very passionate about breastfeeding. I love finding new facts and reading all the amazing powers it has! Like that breastmilk has over 300 important ingredients and formula only has 40. A bunch of babies in nursery this week got sick, but not Zeke because he has all those great immunities! Anyway- I just found another interesting thing- breastmilk can cure nail fungus! CRAZY!!

The News

I received and email today from Sam's group leader from his Winged Wonders Class:

There was a feature on the Grand Rapids Press website that has an
audio / visual slideshow of one of the days of camp. A reporter from
the press came along with my group's outside exploration, and it is
good way to see some of the things we did and explored during camp.

Winged Wonders and Funny quotes

This week Sam went to a Winged Wonders CAmp at Calvin's Ecosystem Preserve. It was everyday from 9-12 and Sam had a really good time, and always came home exhausted and ready for a nap! Today he received the "Happy Camper" reward because he always had a positive attitude. I think it was not only good for him to be out of the house for a bit, but I also liked how he learned so much about God's amazing creation. Maybe the next time you see him you can ask him what is the only bird that hovers and fly's backwards.

Funny Sam quotes:
Each morning this week before his camp he was at Kevin's desk from 8-8:45 playing computer games. On Thursday when it was time to go to camp he got up and said to Brad and Adam: "Don't let anyone touch MY computer." !!!

Every night before supper we go around and say something we are thankful for--last night we did this prayer and began to eat. Then Sam said, "Zeke is thankful for mommy's boobies and diapers!" (Kevin and I laughed quite hard because we have no idea what made him say this all of a sudden!)

Hair- do's

Zeke has some crazy hair right now, so I went looking for other crazy hair photos. The first is Sam- his hair was never crazy because he was just bald.

Josh's hair did a really wierd comb over thing, but the best picture I have of that isn't digital. This picture sort of shows what it looked like- balding and combed over in the front.

Finally, we like to laugh at Zeke because he has this dark patch of hair down the middle while the rest of his head is bald. So we call it his mohawk!

Zeke is getting soooo big!! (and the house has so many additional baby items filling up our rooms!)

Potty Training

Josh is potty training and doing great! I am so proud of him! Nana had tried a couple months ago, but he didn't seem to get it. But this time he really seems to understand and he goes all by himself!

Fourth of July

We had a good 4th of July- Kevin and grandpa John went golfing in the morning. Then we had swimming and BBQ at Nana's house. In the evening, we joined friends at the Greenfields' home and watched the fireworks. It was a great time!

4 Months

At 4 months of age, Zeke weighs 17 lbs. 6 oz. and is 27 and 1/4 inches tall. So, once again, our child has outgrown the infant carseat at 4 months of age. (The height limit on our infant car seat is 26 inches). He is in the 97 percentile for both height and weight.

Sadly, I do not have Joshy's measurements at 4 months. I do know that at 5 months he was 19 lbs 6 oz. So, it is a good bet that he was about 18 pounds at 4 months. I also know that he was 27 inches at 6 months, so he was probably between 25 and 26 inches at 4 months. So as we know- Josh was chubby and short!

Sam seems to be similar to Zeke. At 4 months Sam was 27 and 1/2 inches tall, but he was 18 pounds 8 oz. So it seems that Zeke is my lightest baby!

Breastfeeding Zeke

As many of you know, breastfeeding is really important to me. I think it is amazing that God created us this way- to be able to provide for our babies. A mothers milk is designed specifically for her baby, and it tastes different every time the baby nurses! There is so much more I could say about this marvelous gift God has given mothers! Since there is a chance Zeke may be my last, I really wanted to get some nice, tasteful breastfeeding photos. So my aunt took some and she did such a great job! I wish I had done this with all my boys, and I encourage anyone who breastfeeds to consider getting this done!

Why all our toys break...

Since a very young age, Sam has enjoyed piling his toys or balls all in one spot and kick them around. I do not know why, but even today at age 4 1/2 he is still doing it! I have few pictures, but I know he has been doing it for a long time!

Summer fun

Saturday we had a BBQ with the Moore's, lots of fun! Sunday we had a great father's day, I am truly blessed with a wonderful dad and an amazing husband who loves his boys and is very involved with them. Another fun thing on Sunday was we took Sam to the tennis courts, I didn't take any pictures! But for his first time he was really good! A natural...maybe he will play tennis and not hockey! (Kevin said no...)
